Can you guess the top 5 foods that are best for you on your weight loss journey? There’s much more than five but here are some hints on what they are…
- They’re green, and many versions of them.
- They’re oblong-ish and come in white, brown and even some colors too.
- It swims in the sea, or upstream.

- These are very colorful and can be eaten in so many ways.
- These go “cluck cluck” and in “moo”.
Did you guess them? In the right portions, the following foods can be wonderful for you to enjoy, especially when you’re trying to lose weight. Here’s what they are and why.
- Leafy Greens: Spinach, Collared Greens, Kale, Swiss Chard, etc. are the main leafy greens that have high fiber and nutrients and help you feel hydrated and satiated for long periods of time. In salads, steamed, or chopped in a smoothie are a great way to get these powerhouse nutrients down.
- Whole Eggs: Eggs are incredibly nutrient dense foods and eaten in proper amounts, even the yolk can be very beneficial for you. Super high protein counts, eggs not only taste great but can keep you feeling fuller longer.
- Salmon: Loaded with Omega-3 fatty acids, this protein rich fish help reduce inflammation and provides iodine which helps your thyroid when then helps your metabolic function. Properly functioning metabolism helps your weight.
- Cruciferous Vegetables: Cauliflower, Broccoli, Brussel Sprouts, Cabbage, etc. are the go-tos! They’re high in fiber and fill you up! They have pretty good protein levels as well, but legumes or beans and animal meats are the best for the highest protein levels. But, in the veggie world, go this very nutritious route and you’ll be doing your tastebuds and body a favor.
- Chicken Breast and a few LEAN meats: Hold the skin and skip the fatty pieces and chicken and lean meat are full of iron and protein. Again, when these foods are consumed wisely, they have less saturated fats than other cuts but provide your body the protein and iron it needs to maintain a healthy weight and keep you full.
